Atlanta’s first white Christmas and then the 3rd biggest snow ever

It’s been an unusual winter. Atlanta had its first white Christmas this year. A couple of weeks later, we had our third biggest snow ever (five inches of snow with a quarter inch of ice on top). Daddy said there’s been 20 days with some snow in our yard, the most in the 10 years we’ve lived here (most years only see three or four days of snow, if any).

Christmas!

Christmas morning! This year I asked for a jump rope, wagon and Spiderman doll. I got all three, and more!

One of my favorite gifts was a princess dress from Mom.

This was Emily’s first Christmas.  She had fun watching me with my gifts and I helped her open hers.

My Spiderman doll!

Santa

Each year Meme stands in line for hours so mom and dad can walk up with me and go straight to Santa. Each year I’m none too happy about it. This year, through Mom and Meme, I told Santa I wanted a jump rope. Emily got to meet Santa this year. She seemed to like him. Ridding up and down the escalator afterwards was the best part.

The Pink Pig

There’s this very odd Christmas tradition in Atlanta called the Pink Pig. It’s something Rich’s (now Macy’s) Department Store started in 1953. It’s like a flat mini-roller coaster/train with the cars being in the shape of a pink pig. You stand in line for hours and then ride the Pink Pig for about two minutes. Christmas won’t come to Atlanta unless you do it. Fascinating.

Getting ready for Christmas

Here’s the picture for this year’s Christmas card. Getting a picture of a three-year-old and a two-month-old is apparently pretty tough.

We did our gingerbread house a little early this year. Sugar is good.

Trick-or-Treat…it’s Supergirl!

This year I was Supergirl for Halloween. Here I am using my super powers to get neighborhood candy.

My Superman

My preschool had a costume party for Halloween. Mommy dressed me as Supergirl. Without it having been planned, Jackson’s Mommy dressed him as Superman. Why is this important? Well, we’re best friends and our teachers have been saying we act like the “married couple” of the class. I guess this just confirms it. We were pretty cute!

[Jason here...I'm not a very sentimental guy, but I gotta tell you, when I saw Kailey looking back over her shoulder and smiling, I got a little emotional. I realized she isn't going to be a little girl forever and that one day she may be holding a guy's hand and looking over her shoulder like that at her wedding. And then I thought....that guy had better be a Superman! :)]

At the pumpkin patch…

Yesterday we went on our annual pumpkin patch trip. This year my frav-rit (that’s how I say favorite) thing was the jumpy gym. It was pretty amazing. I also walked through a corn maze and drove a tractor!

Here I am with Aunt Nicole, Uncle Matt and Jacob in the corn maze. I pretty much led the way.

Here I am “driving” the tractor with Jacob

Have I changed?

Playing with baby Emily

Mommy, baby Emily and I like to play with our dolls and stuffed animals…

Seems like Emily has been sleeping since Mommy brought her home. When she’s awake, she doesn’t seem so impressed with us. Mommy said it’s because she’s still a baby, that she’ll play more soon. I hope so!

Emily at two weeks

Go ahead, take the picture, but I’m not gonna smile

Seriously, you think those goofy faces are going to make me laugh?
